OUR FAMILYS VACATION..

roger and i and the 3 dogs went on a 2 week vacation thru the states of idaho,utah nevada and arizona and on to new new mexico,to visit our dear friends the barnes and the estratas.. we have been special friends since the mid nineties when they lived in stanfield or. and we were members together in the meadows ward.they had 7 children at that time,since then the oldest has now been called to odgen utah for a mission..and the next is living in las cruises nm.living and working full time.the next has since became a senior and the rest are still in elementary and jr high. the weather was really good ,a bit warm but not as bad as las vegas ,it was 107 on the day 20th may. and really dry .it was hard to endure ..we only stayed overnight.then went on our way the next day. anyway on the 13th of may we left home and drove to ontario or stayed over and went to utah on the 14th.we had lunch with mom at the sweet tomatoe rest. it's a very nice salad buffet style.we had qwite a nice visit.. the next night we visited with matt and andrea for a bit,had a real nice visit ,his boys were there visiting with them. we visited some the next day with our friends and and saw rose and the kids for a spell before we went on down the road.. we visited the hoover dam outside of las vegas nev. they are really making alot of changes , they are in the process of making the arce's for the new road coming in to bypass the dam,and they still haven't gotten all the roads completed yet..they will be adding more lanes going into arizona.also.we are now the 21st we werein farmington nm. being hit with huge rain/hale drops and wind,consistency enough to close the roads for the night.behind us ,on our way to grant nm. for the night.we arrived at our friends the next day.(22). we stayed till the 27th.we drove back by way of manti ,ut.we saw the hole in the wall ,which is a large mountain side someone has made a home out of the inside .and a museum in it..it is really something to see out amongst all the rich red soil and layered mountainside that has alot of really fancy designs..we arrived back in utah on the 29th and we stayed with rose overnight,we then attended the 50th reunion open house for blair and noreen pincock..it was really nice to see most of our family,and some we haven't seen for a very long time..we even met a few we'd never met..it's so special to see family like this ,on these occasions..it seems we tend to put off these good times in our lives ..we need to remember to include our other families at occasional times..after the party we headed home after a very busy and eventful 2 weeks... and after a week and half home we made another trip to rigby idaho for roger's side of the family,their reunion ,we had it at rigby city park,we were told that the 13th of june was founders day activities,and parade day.so besides having the park full of people we were hailed and poured on several times.. it wasn't the kind of family day we thought we had planned.. but it was nice to see everyone that had traveled so far to be there ,and we made it a nice day afterall despite the rain and hale.. hopefully we are home for a bit longer now till mid july anyway ,when we have to go back to utah for a roberts reunion and a 80th birthday party for my mom.. it's going to be at a park in sandy ut.0n the 25th of july..(more info later).. well this is the update on the nelsons for a time ..were all well and survived the swine flu ,luckily we never got it..oregon didn't get too many here.hope your all well too. our love and lots of hugs go with with you.. love, norma and roger..
